What customers say?

“ I now live in the area and have been to many izakayas. I have to say, this one is a cut above. Don't let the reviews from foreigners like me deter you. This place is legit. There were no other foreigners when we were there and the guy next to me told me he is a regular. The food was so thoughtfully prepared and the presentation is a bonus and not the main attraction. You MUST try the following: the cabbage salad, the beef rib roast, the the grilled "local chicken" (地鶏), the sashimi platter, and the steamed rock fish. The sake selection was also great but definitely try their mikan sour with a fresh mandarin orange on top. Overall, an unforgettable experience and a place i think i will return to again and again. Highly recommended! ”

“ We were recommended this place by a tea house and this was such a rare treat. We were so fortunate to be accommodated in between bookings by the owner and chef. They were incredibly hospitable and kind, going above and beyond to create a special menu for my child’s food allergies, as well as for the four of us. The food was absolutely amazing — every dish felt like a piece of art, crafted with care and creativity. Truly one of those experiences where you can feel the passion behind the meal. Highly recommended! ”

“ lovely izakaya in the heart of fukuoka, with welcoming staff. we didn’t speak fluent japanese (we translated the menu and ordered in japanese) and managed just fine. the food was exquisite and artfully made, lots of care, love and thought went into each piece. you definitely need reservations, so prepare in advance as it’s a very popular spot with limited sitting. we visited during sanma season (lucky as it’s my favourite japanese fish!) and it was stellar. they serve horse meat with their sashimi plate, very much worth a try. tempura was cooked and battered to perfection. will most definitely visit again! ごちそうさまでした ”

“ This restaurant is conveniently located near the APA Hotel. The sushi is excellent, made with incredibly fresh ingredients. Their tempura and other fried dishes are also superb—perfectly light and crispy. The staff is exceptionally friendly; they always greet customers with warm smiles and provide kind, thorough explanations of the menu. It's a very popular local spot, and it's easy to see why—it's always busy with customers, which is a testament to its great quality. ”

“ This izakaya simply wow us with their super friendly service, great vibes and obviously super tasty food. Please note that a reservation is highly recommended and we got ours with help from our hotel front desk. We were not sure what to order and they gladly recommended awesome dishes for us to savour. Certainly a dinner to remember! ”

“ Ever since I first went there after being recommended by an acquaintance, it's become one of my favorite restaurants and I always stop by whenever I visit Fukuoka. Their specialty coleslaw is always a must-try. It has a great texture, is refreshing, and pairs well with alcohol. No matter what kind of tempura you order, it's delicious and lightly fried, so you'll find yourself ordering a lot of it. Once the rice is cooked, they come over to ask if you want it, showing you the pot, which was a nice touch. The sake is also delicious, and the service is very polite and comfortable. This is a restaurant I'll want to visit again when I'm in Fukuoka. ”

“ I visited this place on a friend's recommendation, and my first impression was very positive. The young staff's energetic yet unpretentious service was pleasant from the moment I entered until I left, allowing me to fully enjoy my food and drinks. The tempura dishes, freshly fried behind the bar, and the sashimi moriawase plating were also excellent. The short-haired, bespectacled master(?) truly enjoyed the meal! I'll be back again! ”
